Brilliant! The Fast Show gang reunite to celebrate the cult sketch show

It’s more than 25 years since The Fast Show zoomed on to TV with quick-fire sketches, larger-than-life characters and catchphrases.

Two programmes on Gold look back at the cult comedy this week, including interviews with the cast – Charlie Higson, Paul Whitehouse, Simon Day, Arabella Weir, John Thomson and Mark Williams – plus classic clips and appearances from some Fast Show favourites.

Here, co-creators Higson and Whitehouse, both 62, share their memories of working on the series…

Which Fast Show character did you enjoy playing the most?

Higson The painter, Johnny. I adored the bits where he loses it and goes off into this weird, paranoid fantasy world. I loved being able to smash everything up!
