Meet the blood-sucking residents of a vampire house share

Horror comedy What We Do in the Shadows creeps on to BBC2 with a double bill this week, introducing us to a set of bickering bloodsuckers in a deliciously dark 10-part series.
It’s based on the 2014 film of the same name – co-written by Jemaine Clement from comedy duo Flight of the Conchords – and oozes the same mockumentary style and deadpan humour, but this time the action moves to a vampire house share on New York’s Staten Island.
Self-appointed leader of the house is Nandor the Relentless (Kayvan Novak), who was once a soldier in the Ottoman army, while English dandy Laszlo (Matt Berry) became a vampire after being bitten by Romany temptress Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), now his wife.
Making up the gang is ‘energy vampire’ Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch), who sucks the life out of both humans and vampires with his endless, boring chatter, while servant Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) tends to Nandor’s every need.
We met Novak and Demetriou to find out more…
