Three gay teenagers begin new lives in London just as the AIDS crisis unfolds in C4’s latest drama, It’s a Sin, by Queer as Folk and Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies.

The five-part series spans 10 years and begins in 1981 as law student turned-wannabe actor Ritchie, party boy Roscoe and shy Welsh apprentice tailor Colin escape their sheltered upbringings and end up sharing a London pad together.

But their joyful journey to freedom and self-discovery is soon marred when news of a mystery flu-like illness hits the headlines – the start of the AIDS epidemic that will cast a shadow over all their lives.
