Aaron Paul cooks up a storm in Netflix’s hotly anticipated film sequel to Breaking Bad

Bad Company

It’s fair to say that Breaking Bad is widely recognized as one of the greatest TV shows of all time. Running for five seasons from 2008 to 2013, the brilliant US drama earned a place in Guinness World Records as the most critically acclaimed TV series in history.

So there’s good news for the hit show’s legions of fans this week when the story continues in Netflix’s new spin-off film El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, which looks set to be one of the biggest TV events of 2019.

CONSEQUENCES

The Emmy-winning series came to a dramatic conclusion six years ago, when chemistry-teacher-turned criminal-mastermind Walter White (Bryan Cranston) sacrificed his life to rescue his long-suffering former partner-in-crime Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), who was being held captive by a white supremacist gang (see panel, right).

The last we saw, Jesse was driving down a deserted road into the night in a Chevrolet El Camino (hence the new movie’s title) to escape.

The new film picks up after the events of the series finale, with the authorities hot on Jesse’s tail. However, after his brutal experiences in the meth world, can Jesse really return to normal life?
