Mark Strong says Daniel Milton’s problems are only just beginning as Temple returns to our screens…

BACK TO THE BUNKER

DRAMA

Temple Thursday, Sky Max HD & Sky Showcase HD, 9pm

NEW

Hollywood star Mark Strong dons his scrubs and heads back underground to play rogue surgeon Daniel Milton as his drama Temple returns for a second season.

The first series ended on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger as Daniel’s terminally ill wife Beth finally woke from her coma, after he’d kept her alive for months in an illicit clinic he built under the Temple Tube station.

It was a shocking ending that left audiences desperate for more. But despite his wife’s miraculous recovery, the surgeon’s world is crashing down around him as we rejoin the story this week…

UNDER THREAT

‘Daniel has been firefighting and keeping plates spinning for a long time,’ says Strong, who leads an impressive cast in this seven-part second series. ‘He gets what he’s been desperately hoping for when his wife wakes up and everything seems to be going great, but then the whole thing starts to fall apart again!’

His sudden reversal of fortunes begins when Suzanna (Anamaria Marinca), the hospital worker from whom he took a kidney to save Beth’s life, approaches him and demands £50,000 to keep silent.

Desperate for money to pay her off, Daniel goes to work for a criminal named Gubby (Rhys Ifans), despite the warnings of his friend Lee (Daniel Mays), the reclusive transport worker who helped him build his clandestine clinic.
