Musa and Thabang find creative inspiration in the most unexpected place
-

MUSA and Thabang were two writers who had not scribbled a single word between them for months.
Their online readers were begging them for new stories, as they had grown used to receiving regular updates from the duo and always looked forward to the next installment.
But their pens had dried up and their fingers had grown weary on their keyboards. They felt as if they’d run out of ideas and they needed to search for new means of creativity.
Musa suggested they should avoid thinking about their readers for a while and instead go out and have some fun.
Thabang agreed it was worth a try. “Where shall we go?” he asked. “To a club,” Musa replied.
Thabang was a bit uncomfortable with the idea, as neither of them were great fans of the late-night scene. But they had nothing to lose, and doing something different might just get their creative juices flowing again.
“Maybe a fresh perspective and a little fun is just what the doctor ordered, rather than sitting the entire day behind our laptops scratching our heads and wondering what on Earth to write about,” he agreed. “If you are convinced that a club is the right place to get some new ideas, who am I to argue?”
IT WAS 9.30pm and the men had showered and splashed on their most expensive colognes. They dressed in their best smart-casual gear, determined to fit into the club vibe.
They googled “best clubs in town” and decided on one not too far from home. Climbing out of the Uber, they joined the long line to the entrance – clearly they’d made a popular choice.
Having met with the approval of the bouncers, they pushed their way into the room trying to manoeuvre between the large crowd of drinking and dancing beautiful young people.
