EARLY 20 YEARS AGO, I led a diving team to make the first cave dives inside the largest piece of ice ever seen on our planet.
The B-15 iceberg had calved from the Ross Ice Shelf in Antarctica, and I was drawn to explore this harbinger of global climate change. That project left me with an enduring goal: to share my adventures as a way to stimulate conversation about our changing planet.
Today, I feel like I have to stand up and shout this message. The Arctic, the climate regulator of our planet, is undergoing massive and rapid transformation. How we respond in the next few years could seal the fate of all life on Earth.
