Despite any tenseness in his relationship with Garner, Affleck remains a devoted and involved dad to his three children. “They’re the focus of my life,” he has said. “[Being a dad] is what I love doing and it’s what makes me happy.”

Ben Affleck is never far from the spotlight these days. Since rekindling his romance with Jennifer Lopez in 2021, he seemingly hasn’t shied away from publicity – and not all of it has been good. From his downright shocking interview with US radio host Howard Stern – when he said, of his marriage to Jennifer Garner, “Part of why I started drinking was because I was trapped” – to his back-pedalling chat with TV host Jimmy Kimmel, in which he said the criticism over his insensitive comments “hurt his feelings”, Affleck hasn’t held back in taking verbal swipes at Garner. Affleck and Garner, both 49, were married for a decade following their 2005 nuptials.
