THERE are two sides to Hollywood stardom: hefty paychecks and fan adoration on one, the often-unwanted glare of the spotlight on the other. When it comes to King Arthur hunk Charlie Hunnam, the two sides bled together last year and led to an ugly situation involving his secretive girlfriend of 12 years, L.A.-based jewelry designer Morgana McNelis.

After a group of Charlie’s most rabid female followers began attacking Morgana online early in 2016, he felt compelled to come to his ladylove’s defense. Posting to a friend’s social media website (he has none of his own), Charlie stated: “It has been brought to my attention that there is a group of immature girls posting a large number of hard messages aimed at my longtime girlfriend. I would respectfully ask you to stop doing this... my girlfriend is one of the kindest, nicest, most virtuous people I have ever met.”
