On Oct. 6, 1996, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill invited their closest friends and family to a softball game and concert in Tim’s hometown of Rayville, La. When guests arrived, Faith — wearing a simple white dress and a string of pearls — and Tim — sporting jeans and a black coat — were standing with a minister under an oak tree, waiting to become husband and wife. “Everyone was so surprised!” recalls a source, adding the entire day was “extremely” special. “Tim and Faith were so madly in love. It was just beautiful.”

That love has only gotten stronger. Twenty-three years after they said “I do,” Tim and Faith “are happier than they’ve ever been,” the source tells OK!, adding that the couple truly enjoy each other’s company — and the romance is still very much alive. “They’re absolutely crazy about each other!” And while it hasn’t always been easy — “they’ve had rough patches,” admits the source—Tim and Faith, both 52, have found ways to work through their problems.
