Now talks to Paul Hollywood in Hollywood about his brand new show City Bakes – and how excited he is for the new version of Bake Off.

When Now jets out to Hollywood, it’s to interview actual Paul Hollywood. Genius, no? As the Great British Bake Off moves to Channel 4, Paul reveals why his diary is looking very busy this year.

And he agrees that there’s no better way to start a new chapter than flying out to his namesake – Hollywood in Los Angeles – for City Bakes, a new show that sees him on a globe-trotting cooking adventure.

But, there are other things to talk about too – after all, the 51-year-old is the only judge returning to Bake Off when it makes its debut on Channel 4 later this year. How will he do without being flanked by Mary Berry each week? Here, Paul lifts the lid on his new projects and why he will stay loyal to the show that turned him into household name…

Bake Off has a new home on Channel 4. How are you feeling about the move? 

I am so excited. I’m really looking forward to it.It’s a new chapter and a brand new venture. Yes, there will be new judges and hosts but it’s still the same tent.

Are you still going to work for the BBC? 

Yes, I have actually been filming a new car series where I go on some road trips across countries like France and Italy. I have really enjoyed it.

Tell us about the new series of City Bakes. What’s it all about?

We travel to different cities around the world to understand baking and, in equal measure, learn about the cultures and what makes the cities tick. Nothing is scripted and I have absolutely loved visiting different bakeries in each city. I’ve learned so much and I’ve come back buzzing with lots of ideas.
