The importance of sustainable fashion… Amit Aggarwal:

“When I started my brand I was very aware of the fact that the world had changed. There was a collective consciousness that we had to find more environmentally sustainable ways of living. I believe designers have a moral obligation to be at the forefront of this change because the world looks to us for bold and new endeavours that respond to the needs of the times.”

Malvika Mohanan: “The environment today cannot keep up with man’s needs. Today’s generation is all about fast fashion. Every season there are new trends and therefore so many clothes being made, creating a lot of waste. I think it’s high time that we lean towards more sustainable fabrics and promote sustainable fashion because that’s the only we can reverse the damage and carry on.”

How do you personally recycle and reuse?

Amit: “It’s my personal belief that traditional fabrics, garments and materials have a crucial role to play in taking sustainable fashion forward. We live in a time where people have still not completely severed their ties to tradition but at the same time are looking to the future. I consider this to be a great opportunity. I believe in modernising vintage products using recyclable materials and utilising our creativity and intellect to still make truly considered luxury products. That is what I consider to be the future.”
