Stepping On Someone's Toes But Tactfully!
UNIQUE TIMES
|February - March 2021
We all are associated with a family, group, company, society or organization. It is important you should understand people’s feelings and perspectives clearly before you reach your conclusive perspective. Also, you represent yourself as an individual. Your tone of voice, thus, represents yourself. It tells other people what message you want to send them.
We are onto 2021, and the importance of exhibiting tactful communication is increasing year by year. Assertive communication is the key to successful relationships and partnerships, may be at workplace, public or with family. It all usually comes down to attitude – choosing the right tone of voice, for a first, decides where your conversation will lead you to. Have a look at your own conversations – you have the same voice, but according to situations your tone changes. So, let’s have a look at why you should get it right, rather why you ‘must’!
The world is in the palm of our hands over the last 2 decades communication skills have dropped down drastically with instant messages, social feeds and the like. Everyone likes to be known as bosses in their own regime and entrepreneurs, musicians and architects and pilots and doctors and engineers and more such disciplines to which even a cobbler has a grand statement made through any of these feeds. On the contrary, communication has become so easy that we mostly forget to talk sense and say many things at the same time. Let me cut to the chase - the way of ascertaining your statements in a rigid fashion could get you into trouble and get you blacklisted too. Hence to strategize a lingo to make your part of the dialogue mean business, you need to use the right kind of words at the right time and at the right place.
