STEELING THE OPPORTUNITY

A FLAGSHIP COMPANY OF MAN GROUP, Man Industries (India) Ltd. is one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of large diameter carbon steel line pipes in India. The BSE and NSE listed company has manufactured and supplied more than 13,000 Kms. of line pipes across the world for various applications. In an interview with the Manufacturing Today, MAN Industries Chairman Dr. RC Mansukhani shares how his company looks to capitalise on pent-up demand for quality steel pipes backed by the oil & gas sector and the government’s push to provide tap water to masses.

Here are the excerpts: Tell us more about your product portfolio, manufacturing facilities and production capacity? We have state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities with a total combined capacity of 1 million MTPA for Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded Pipes (LSAW) ranging between diameter 16” to 56” and Helically Submerged Arc Welded Pipes (HSAW) ranging between diameter 18” to 140”. The line pipes are used for oil & gas transmission, oil exploration and refining, water and sewage transportation. The company has 6.4 million sq. m. capacity for 3 LPE coating/FBE Coating and 1,25,000 cubic metre per annum Concrete Weight Coating (CWC) Plant to cater to various high-quality corrosion protective applications required in on-shore and off-shore Oil and Gas Pipelines.

We have two manufacturing facilities, one plant located in Anjar, Kutch District of Gujarat and another is in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, spread over a total of 150 acres. The Anjar plant facilitates easy transportation to two major ports i.e Kandla and Mundra as well as provides good connectivity to the road network. The centrally located, Pithampur plant as well facilitates easy transportation for domestic orders.
