The Era Of Social Office

The onslaught of technology is forcing businesses to reshape their workspaces into those that promote work-life balance and offer an opportunity to socialise.

Workplaces have moved far beyond the traditional model, where employees only had to clock in the required time and then head home. The scope for a workplace has increased manifold over the past few years. How well employees perform is often related to how comfortable the workplace is and how it allows them to grow. With the advent of technology, the workplace has become a sort of a hybrid nest where one can connect with others for work and collaborate using the digital medium. The need for technology is such that in a recent survey it was found that 77 per cent of decision-makers are using technologies, and 82 per cent of businesses that use collaboration tools want to use even more in the future.

The transforming nature of work and a younger workforce population are altering workplaces, from pure work hubs into social hubs. Workplaces now have transformed into spaces that provide a healthy work-life balance, which also give an opportunity to socialise during and after work. It is time to welcome the social office—a place where collaboration is easy, social media is welcomed, and the health and wellness of employees are taken care of.
