Known for his turnaround stints, Sanjay Dutt, MD & CEO, TRIL .and THDC, is applying himself to resume projects and continue on the growth trajectory
When three revolutionary government policies caused the real estate sector some consternation, Tata Realty and Infrastructure Limited (TRIL) and Tata Housing Devel-opment Company (THDC) saw this as an opportunity. Enter Sanjay Dutt, MD & CEO, whose 25 years of experience seems apt and fits in with the company’s overall vision and mission. Having joined the company in March 2018, he has been spearheading the company to focus strongly on its numerous projects and change its project strategies.
Till a couple of years ago, even though THDC and TRIL had several ongoing projects, there was little noise the company made. The reasons may have been numerous, but as Dutt says “it was the changing market dynamics that compelled us to deliberate whether our projects are the need of the hour, relook at the design of ongoing projects, and ensure the right positioning. This means relaunching our projects, which has taken time but in the long run will be beneficial to us and our customers”.
What Dutt has done since his appointment is take stock of existing projects across the country, which are now at multiple stages of developments. These include several relaunches and fresh launches in numerous cities across the country. The company is also looking at acquiring land in several locations.
