Despite a tough 2020, Harry Metcalfe’s decision to put his Princess into a yacht share scheme has paid off

Just as I predicted, France lifted its lockdown and by June boating life was starting to free itself from Covid’s clutches. A captain was quickly signed up and B9 was booked in for its annual bottom scrub and anode exchange. But then, on the day of the lift, the flybridge engine controls decided to pack up. The only option was to drive B9 from the inside helm until the flybridge was fixed (we’re still waiting!)

Once B9 was back in the water and freshly anti-fouled, more of Europe was coming out of lockdown and the Yacht-Share Network could finally organise viewings for B9. The result was almost a rush for the last four shareholdings, which I put down to the sense of relief swilling around post lockdown, as we all hoped life would return to something close to normal over the summer.
