A lady rides from Kolkata to Kutch. Solo!

Lost In Dessert
I don’t know how this happened, but I keep traveling from time to time on my quest to see the world far beyond me. My trip to White Desert of Kutch is complete and I am here to share my experiences with fellow bikers and bikernis...

Inspiration: Since I came to know about Rann of Kutch, I kept contemplating a trip there. As this is the driest place in India, it would be scorching in summer. Winter seemed the right time to go there. I picked second week of February and packed my stuff.

Time to Ride: Day 1 830 km: I left home at 1:30 am, headed for my first destination, Allahabad. It was a long ride. NH2 till Durgapur was as expected, but after that road conditions worsened; it was not a good experience. I reached Allahabad after cruising 830 km as my hotel was far from the highway. Day 2 saw me riding to Agra from Allahabad which was around 400 km. The third day saw me ride to Ajmer in Rajasthan. Day 4 and it was time to enter Gujarat, the white desert wasn’t far now!

The fifth day saw me reach the Rann of Kutch, but it does not have any hotel or resort there. I stayed in Hodka Village which is close about 15 km from White Desert. Day 6: Asphalt 15 km to Rann of Kutch, after that everything turns into sea of white salty sand! In total, I rode 166 km back and forth through Rann.
