There are people who sound like they know it all, and there are those who really do know it all. Once you get past the fact that Paul Mullinger at VW Downunder sounds like a know it all, you’ll realise that he actually pretty much does.

Paul isn’t one to pull his punches and likes to tell like it is, assuming you’re as passionate and serious about your VW Camper as he is about restoring and maintaining them.

It’s an approach that has resulted in a number of glowing testimonials from the many satisfied customers to have used Fobbing’s finest VW restoration and maintenance specialists.

Reputations are built over time, but can be lost far quicker than it takes to build them. They require constant commitment to maintain and a dedicated team of like-minded coworkers with the necessary amount of knowledge, skills and professionalism to back you up.

People like Paul’s right-hand man and workshop supervisor, Alan Haste; body prep, paint and fitting expert, John Pugh; trainee fabricator, James Williams; and finally, painter Paul Arnold.

Quality controller

The man behind VWDU, in Fobbing near Stanford-le-Hope, Essex is clear in his outlook, as he stated during conversation: “Quality is the key to everything we do.”

However, it’s high time we turned the spotlight on a man who is no stranger to being in the limelight, a drummer called Nick Robins.

Nick makes up one third of band that goes by the name of Kiev. He formed the band with two of his oldest mates in the early 1980s, playing ’80s electronic dance music, covering the likes of Depeche Mode, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and Soft Cell, as well as a number of their own creations.
