Brainstorming possible features to bore you all with earlier this week, our esteemed editor and I got onto the subject of ‘good’ jobs in transport. Obviously, the definition of ‘good’ depends on what you want from a job in the first place, so we narrowed it down to jobs people have enjoyed doing – at which point I felt duty bound to trot out my standard tale about how my best time on the road was during that long hot summer we had in 2003.
If you believe the story, we all leapt about the place like happy little lorry-driving lambs having the life of Riley in the endless sunshine, spending our evenings engaged in all kinds of debauchery because it was too hot to sleep in our cabs and blah blah blah blah… It’s okay, I’ll stop now.
