On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday there were heavy rains across Gauteng and the forecast for Saturday was even more rain. On Friday I spoke with my mate Grant McNicol, the driving force behind the I&I since its inception in 2004. Grant was fairly philosophical about the prospects for Saturday. “We have no control over the weather brother so we’ll prepare for a mega crowd just like we always do. In the immortal words of Doris Day ‘Que sera, sera, Whatever will be, will be, The future's not ours to see, Que sera, sera.’”
And of course Grant’s understated optimism paid off. On Saturday morning the sky was overcast but the clouds were high and it looked as if the rain might hold off. And it did! It was perfect weather for a monster jol. Once again the venue was the Luso Africa Sports Club in Germiston. The Christian Motorcyclists Association managed the gate and did a fine job ensuring swift entry and a warm welcome. Well done CMA!
