Here’s Ferrari World. Not in Abu Dhabi and Without Any Rollercoaster Rides. All It Has Are Ferraris. And a Lot of Them.

Prancing Parade

I have been on 31-degree inclines sideways – with the left set of wheels on lower ground, the right set of wheels on higher terrain and the seatbelt keeping me from falling over the side. But that’s always been the case when I’m off-roading. At 20kph. Not at 160kph. I felt like the walls were closing in on me if I drove faster. In fact, I was afraid of driving faster because I struggled to retain a sense of perception. It’s strange driving fast with your body tilted at an angle. And at the same time, I was afraid of taking my foot off the throttle as I kept feeling that I may just slide off down into the grass. I was at the Daytona International Speedway. On the famous banking. And the next person who tells me that Daytona and Nascar is nothing more than driving with your steering turned left, I will wish a Toyota Fortuner falls on them. Roof down. The only thing I can imagine to be more of a challenge to your sense of perception is the infamous ‘maut ka kuan’ (the well of death) that you see in circus shows with either brave or deranged riders riding around in their motorcycles.
