Tenneco Makes Emission Control Systems For Indian Needs

Tenneco is supplying products that meet the Euro-V emission norms through its customers in India. The company is also catering to many applications in the North American, European and Asian markets, either directly or through its customers in the ride performance segment. It has new investment plans to upscale the CA and RP products capacity and engineering capabilities.

Taking India’s regulatory pressure to reduce the automotive carbon footprint as an opportunity, the company has developed inlet-outlet solutions to help its clients address emission challenges. Aiming to provide technologies that address the exacting requirements of the customers, Tenneco is expanding its market reach in India by working closely with its customers, Sagar Hemade, Manging Director, told.

“Having the technological prowess to offer both EGR and SCR-based solutions, Tenneco is offering ‘fit-to-market’ products in India. It has developed an SCR system for India with high local content. The entire canning and encapsulation of catalyst elements, heat-shielding and heat retention have been localised. Even critical components like DRT (decomposition-reactor-tube), which involves advance mixing systems that convert liquid-urea to gaseous ammonia, were indigenised successfully,” he said.
