After a 4-year hiatus, UWPC was held again this year. As the organiser, we are honoured to have received many outstanding submissions. We sincerely thank everyone for their support, which made this event a success. In this issue of the magazine, we will showcase this year’s award-winning works and photographers, with the cover photo taken by Vanessa Mignon, the winner of the Best Cover award, featuring a Port Jackson shark. If you’re up for a continuous wreck diving marathon, check out Ali’s insights into the Brockville dive site in Canada. Josh recommends the Julian Rocks Marine Reserve in Australia, where you can spot various marine giants. Anthony guides us to explore Museo Atlántico sculptures by UK artist Jason deCaires Taylor, offering a unique immersive diving experience. In this issue, we had the privilege of interviewing Edward Lai, founder of Nauticam, who shared insights into entrepreneurship. We hope readers interested in underwater photography equipment or the diving industry will find it beneficial. Gillian introduced Lemon Sharks, her first encounter with a shark species in the ocean. Kate generously provides a comprehensive guide to wide-angle underwater photography. Shane shares his experience of clearing invasive European green crabs with the Vancouver Island Coastal Restoration Society, illustrating the impact of invasive species on local ecosystems and current control methods. Through these discussions, we hope to raise awareness that environmental conservation is a long-term commitment.
