Conceived as a transformation process from urban inconvenience to an opportunity for learning, appreciation and popularisation, the “eventful construction site” formula is a way to turn the building phase into a laboratory- workshop of listening and communication that invites direct participation by local inhabitants and creates a bridge between design, execution and future management.
The crisis that hit the luxury boat market in recent years turned out to be an opportunity to consolidate and evolve the sector’s content, becoming an important experimental laboratory for new design languages and spatial concepts.
At the heart of Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka’s central hills with its characteristic English architecture, the design of Araliya Green City draws inspiration from colonial and indigenous design. Including features of an ‘aparthotel’, the spaces of this hospitality venue have been created with a flexible, multi-function purpose.
The new European headquarters of Bloomberg is located between the Bank of England and the St Paul’s Cathedral in London. Although representing its unique location and current era, the design also responds to its historic context and is also a true exemplar of sustainable development.
