In this issue, we bring to you motley of projects ranging from the luxurious NUO Hotel in Beijing, designed by the experts at HBA and Illuminate Lighting Design, to the boutique Old Clare Hotel in Sydney by Tonkin Zulaikha Greer Architects. French Architects, RDAI reflect on Indian cultural iconography in their vision of the Ganjam Flagship Store in Bangalore, and Multiply Architects collaborate with Light Cibles to create a modern Buddhist temple steeped in the philosophies of the religion. The Train World railway museum in Belgium embodies theatrical lighting by Lightemotion to weave an enthralling story, while EFLA Consulting Engineers paint the interiors of Iceland’s Langjökull Glacier in an array of natural light colours to craft a surreal experience. Foster + Partners with David Atkinson demonstrate pure brilliance at the UAE Pavilion as part of the Milan Expo, and on the other hand work in conjunction with Maurice Brill Lighting Design for the Crossrail Place in London.
