AGRICULTURE 4.0: One Giant Leap For Mankind?
India is moving forward to become the largest exporter of agri commodities. The latest export of agricultural and processed food products has increased by 25 per cent within six months of the current Financial Year 2022-23 (April-September) in comparison to the corresponding period of FY 2021-22. To achieve the export target of $23.56 billion India needs to implement Agriculture 4.0 which includes use of new farm technologies, Public-Private Partnership, enhanced digital literacy and access, and secure platforms to efficiently exchange data. This purported Fourth agricultural Revolution (or Agriculture 4.0) will equip farmers to grow more food on less land while feeding more people. It entails leveraging of game-changing technologies such as Internet of Things, Agricultural Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Drone Tech, Precision Agriculture, Agricultural Biotechnology, Big Data & Analytics,
Blockchain Technology, among other innovations which promise to drive India's economic growth and stabilise the global food system. Agri feeds are also a key component of the smooth functioning and development of profitable agri businesses.
