From the recent events we conducted, one primary issue that I kept coming across was the challenge faced by SMEs that are either involved in the logistics industry or require logistical support for delivering their goods and services. In today’s highly competitive business environment, where e-commerce and internet-based businesses are growing at a meteoric pace, logistics has become so vital that it can make or break your firm’s credibility and reputation. While e-commerce giants like Amazon and Alibaba are spending millions of dollars on nailing their supply chain management, small and medium businesses are struggling to fulfil the lofty consumer expectations on a shoestring budget. In times when one-day delivery of orders at the customer’s doorstep has become a benchmark for sound logistics, SMEs are striving to manage their supply chains efficiently with limited resources. This inspired us to explore the domain from the perspective of a small or medium business owner and share our insights regarding various aspects of supply chain management with our valued readers.
