A few quick makes and easier quilts for you this month. We’re all outside enjoying the garden or visiting quilt shows aren’t we? The Monochrome Quilt is a stylish Log Cabin quilt from Makower. Add a zingy, bright pink and we have the Stepping Stones quilt. Moving on from logs and squares we have the Lullaby Bricks Cot Quilt which is strip roll friendly. Big Cross Little Cross is another quick pieced summery quilt while the Sailing Boat Cushion looks perfect on a wooden bench in the summer sun. We also make a couple of appliqué blocks in this month’s Tulips series quilt. Helen was lucky enough to visit this year’s Quilt and Stitch Village Show last month and shows us the winners and best of the rest in her review of the show. We find out about the community quilt being made to celebrate Jane Austen on the 200th anniversary of her death. Joanna O’Neill takes a look at the various types of Quilt Groups quilters can join while Deborah Nash visits another inspirational art exhibition featuring the work of Howard Hodgkin. Frieda Oxenham tells us about her First and Last quilts and we meet Grenville Quilters.
