Brain-Computer Interfaces: Are We Ready to Think and Control?

This is not science fiction anymore. With the rapid development of Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs), we are stepping into a future where our brains could directly communicate with machines, blurring the lines between mind and technology. But are we really ready for such a revolutionary shift?

WHAT IS A BRAIN-COMPUTER INTERFACE?

A Brain-Computer Interface is a system that enables direct communication between the human brain and an external device. BCIs work by detecting brain signals, interpreting them, and translating them into commands that machines can understand. These signals are usually picked up through sensors placed on the scalp (non-invasive), or via electrodes implanted directly into the brain (invasive).

Initially developed to help people with paralysis or neurological disorders, BCIs are now expanding into gaming, education, virtual reality, and even communication for healthy individuals.
