Do you want some exciting new features that will delight amateurs and pros alike? Do you want a more competent GoPro action camera for no extra money? Well, that’s exactly what you get with the latest iteration of the GoPro Hero Black.

The design of the GoPro Hero 12 Black is, like for like, the same as its predecessor, the GoPro Hero 11: the same dimensions, same weight, same sensors, same displays, same everything. It’s hard to make perfection any better and this is as good as it gets.

However, don’t panic: there is something new – the 1/4”-20 mounting thread. Positioned between the two folding fingers at the bottom of the action camera, the new mounting option allows for more accessories to be used with the camera. To drive the message home, GoPro launched a 48-inch-long extension pole that collapses to just 10 inches alongside the new camera, which is designed to work with the new mounting threads.
