THE Wet Wok has had its zero food hygiene rating upgraded to a four. The popular Chinese restaurant was ordered to make urgent improvements after an inspection in February this year.
The Wet Wok previously fared badly in all three categories inspectors looked at during the February inspection - including hygienic food handling, cleanliness of the building, and food safety. This meant that the venue was given the lowest possible food hygiene rating achievable - which could result in closure if a business does not improve its standards.
However, a new inspection has resulted in the Hoe Road restaurant being handed a rating of a four on May 6, 2022. The ratings are handed out by the Food Standards Agency after an inspection is carried out locally by the city council, and cover a range of food hygiene measures.
