According to sources, Sahil had fled Mumbai after the Bombay High Court denied his plea for anticipatory bail and relief from arrest. Mumbai Crime Branch tracked Khan for 40 hours continuously, as he kept changing his location, before finally arresting him. Before this, the SIT had summoned Sahil and three others for questioning in December 2023, but they did not respond.

A police officer revealed that Sahil is involved in a betting app website called Lotus Book 24/7, which is part of the Mahadev betting app network. The actor is accused of promoting the Lotus Book app and attending its events. After promoting Lion Book, he launched the Lotus Book 24/7 app as a partner. He used his charm to promote the app, inviting celebrities and organising grand parties.
