NTPC, the government-owned power behemoth, along with its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy, has signed two distinct preliminary agreements focused on exploring prospects for developing supercritical thermal plants, renewable energy projects, and green hydrogen initiatives in Rajasthan.

Under one memorandum of understanding (MoU) between NTPC and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (RVUNL), the parties will assess the feasibility of incorporating supercritical units into the existing Chhabra Thermal Power Plant. This initiative is part of the companies' joint efforts to enhance efficiency and reduce the generation cost of the plant's existing units.
