A GANG threw dozens of packages containing drugs worth an estimated £200,000 behind bars over the walls of a jail after they'd been ordered by inmates.
Police claim they have now dismantled an organised criminal gang behind the smuggling of contraband including phones and tobacco into Forest Bank prison in Salford after two men were locked up for their part in the plot.
Boss James Rourke, 34, recruited others to help him throw packages over the walls into the prison exercise yards after he'd put together the 'prepared to order' packs. He also liaised with prisoners via text message to keep them updated on their deliveries.
"Coming over any second now kid," he told one prisoner. "Hopefully my boys are gonna go and bang them up now," he told another. Greater Manchester Police launched an investigation after prison staff told how packages were regularly being thrown over the walls.
