<p>The debt-ridden firm blamed watchdog Ofwat &ndash; claiming it made its business plan &ldquo;uninvestible&rdquo;.</p>
<p>It is understood investors axed a cash plan agreed last year after Ofwat refused to let Thames Water hike bills by 40% to fund much- needed investment.</p>
<p>Fears emerged last year the firm, led by CEO Chris Weston, could collapse due&nbsp;to its huge debts. The Government previously said it is ready to take over Thames Water &ndash; the UK&rsquo;s largest water firm &ndash; if it collapses.</p>
