WAITING GAME

YORKSHIRE players admit performances have been impacted with the uncertainty over the club’s impending sanctions.

A trip to Division Two-topping Durham tomorrow is hardly the most likely place for them to get their first win of the season after a loss, two draws and an abandonment due to rain.

But there were signs of recovery last week when they managed to cling on to a draw, nine wickets down, against Glamorgan thanks to a mammoth innings from Adam Lyth. However, the Cricket Discipline Commission are yet to hand down their sanctions for the club following its admissions of guilt over the racism scandal that has rocked the game.

That will not take place until June 27 when the players will find out if there are to be points deductions as well as fines.
