Henry De Bromhead’s dual Champion Hurdler, hot favourite to become the first four-time winner of the race, cruised to the front under Rachael Blackmore at the second last flight.
But second favourite Klassical Dream and Teahupoo were in striking distance at the last, with the pair pulling clear as Honeysuckle came under pressure.
And it was the Gordon Elliott-trained outsider Teahupoo who snatched the win, with Honeysuckle two and a half lengths further back in third.
