"Anyway, all will become clear in the next few months, because we're staying on this programme until the autumn." Steve's afternoon slot began in 1999 and he also presents Steve Wright's Sunday Love Songs on the network.
He will be replaced by Scott Mills, 49, who spent almost 24 years on Radio 1.
