CURRY sauce has beaten gravy in the battle of the chip shop condiments.
The debate has divided chippy lovers up and down the country.
But the latest research reveals the UK prefers curry sauce (31%) over gravy (20%).
They came in third and fifth place in the top 10 choices, with ketchup in&nbsp;the No1 spot (36%), vinegar (33%) placed second and mayonnaise (24%) taking the fourth spot.
The survey of 2,000 Brits by Pukka also revealed the biggest curry sauce lovers are from Cardiff (44%) closely followed by chippy customers in Newcastle (42%) and Birmingham (39%). Rachel Cranston, head of&nbsp;brand strategy for the pie-making company, said: "With chip shops at the heart of our story ever since we started making and baking pies 60 years ago, we wanted to settle the curry sauce versus gravy debate once and for all.
"It's clear that the nation loves chip shop curry sauce."&nbsp;
