LEGENDARY rockers The Who have lined up their first shows in Edinburgh for more than 40 years.
Mod greats Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend have announced their The Who Hits Back! tour will include two gigs at Edinburgh Castle on July 8 and 9.
Tickets for the shows, which will feature a full&nbsp;orchestra, will go on sale on Friday. It will be the first gigs The Who have played in Scotland since 2017 when they performed at Glasgow's Hydro. A gig at the same venue in 2020 was called off because of Covid and again in 2021 due to the pandemic.
The band last played Edinburgh, at the Playhouse, on February 19, 1981, kicking&nbsp;off with their smash hit Substitute.
Daltrey, 78, said: "Having not toured the UK for six years, it's great that at this stage of our careers we have the chance to go to places that are not on the usual touring map such as Edinburgh Castle, as well as the other cities across the country that we haven't been to for decades. It will make&nbsp;this very special for me. This opportunity will give our UK Who fans the chance to hear our current show which, with the addition of an orchestra, takes our music to new heights."
