A CANCER specialist who assaulted his wife days after finding her having sex with another man in a car has been granted an absolute discharge.
NHS consultant Devraj Srinivasan, 42, had admitted the attack in August.
However, he was not sentenced immediately because of the potential repercussions on his future career with the NHS Lothian.
A sheriff had expressed concern over an unhappy situation” which could have meant that patients would be deprived of the consultant's services.
Srinivasan had told police to come and arrest me’ after the assault during a row about the couple's divorce plans.
