RIO FERDINAND reckons England's defence will be their "weakest link" in Qatar.

Harry Maguire's poor form and lack of game time is Ferdinand's greatest cause for concern ahead of the World Cup.

The 81-times capped former England defender believes any of the centre-backs from his era would walk into Gareth Southgate's starting XI for Qatar.

They were blessed with the likes of Sol Campbell, John Terry, Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate while the current squad are beset by injuries and have no settled defence.

Ferdinand said: "I've always thought if you're going to win a tournament, you've got to have a good defence.
