KEIR Starmer today unveils Labour's £29billion plan for a price cap freeze that would ensure households do not "pay a penny more" on energy bills this winter.

In an exclusive interview with the Mirror, the Labour leader said: "Millions of people are really worried - they know prices are going up. And they are very, very worried about what they can do.

"It's about whose side are you on. Where do you stand where you've got these companies making these huge profits and families suffering every day?"

Energy costs are so high some schools are considering a three or four-day week to save on heating and lighting.

Mr. Starmer wants the domestic energy price cap frozen at its current £1,971 until the end of March next year. That would stop average bills rising to £3,600 in October and £4,200 in January.
