There’s been no shortage of Disney live-action remakes lately, but it’s safe to say their latest venture, The Little Mermaid, is hitting all the right notes.
Just like its 1989 animated predecessor, the new film follows spirited young mermaid Ariel, played beautifully by Halle Bailey, who is fascinated by the world above the sea.
While some aspects have been updated, the film stays relatively true to the original, including keeping vivacious villain Ursula, played by Melissa McCarthy.
A huge fan of the animated movie, Melissa says she knew all the lyrics and lines before she was sent the script.
