THIS COUPLE WED AFTER FALLING IN LOVE WHILE DONATING

Aussie wedding SAVES 600 LIVES

When most couples get married, they schedule the day to make sure there’s time for photos, canapés and cutting the cake.

But when Sarah and Heath Tollis tied the knot in April this year, they had one other important item on their to-do list – they wanted to give blood after saying their vows.

The couple, who were friends at school, have been donating blood and plasma at their local blood bank in Miranda, NSW, since they were teenagers. They donate blood four times a year, and plasma every fortnight, and it was during these regular donation dates that they realised they were more than just friends.

“We’d often cross paths when we were donating blood,” says Sarah, 26. “It takes 40 minutes to donate plasma, so we’d sit and have a chat, which I really enjoyed.”

Heath, 27, was equal parts thoughtful and determined in his efforts to woo Sarah.
