Stretch Away Winter Stiffness

Some people experience increased stiffness and discomfort in winter. Muscles lose heat and constrict more in cold weather, creating stiffness throughout the body. Experts believe that our joints gets tightened in cold weather and our muscles lose their range of motion, resulting in stiffness. "Getting out from under our warm and cosy covers to get our daily dose of activity might be challenging in winter," agrees Namita Piparaiya, yoga and Ayurveda lifestyle specialist and founder of Yoganama. "And, if we don't mobilise our joints on priority, diving straightly right into energetic yoga sequences such as the effective sun salutations and postures might be counterproductive and go in vain," she adds.

Namita provides a few morning routines to boost your energy, make your body ready to move, and to avoid muscular stiffness and pain.
