During the winter, the health of newborns and infants might be compromised. The seasonal chill increases the likelihood of contracting a cold, a cough, or the flu. New mothers worry about how to keep their babies warm and cosy when the weather turns cold. “Winter can be harsh on your little one,” agrees Dr Prashant Moralwar, Consultant Paediatrician with Motherhood Hospital, Bengaluru. “It can make your baby susceptible to a host of allergies, diseases and infections. Coughs, colds, flu, gastric problems and dehydration are common occurrences during these chilly days. It is imperative that you take some essential steps to safeguard your baby during winter.”
