For a long time, Hindi cinema, aka Bollywood, has ruled many hearts in India, but the emergence of regional cinema has shown the influence power a movie can hold. With approximately 4000 films made in 20 languages a year, India is home to the highest number of films. Often, most of these movies end up unreleased or crushed by some blockbuster cinema. What is the fate of these movies?
India is home to about 1.3 billion people and has some of the best creative minds who produce content that has the potential to change the cinema experience but couldn’t get much production value. To solve the filmmaker's problems and offer rich, varied entertainment to the audiences, World’s first cinema marketplace, ‘ABC Talkies’ was created in 2021. Founded by Siddharth Sinha and Shalibhadra Shah, ABC Talkies is often confused as an OTT platform but originally served the purpose of an essential platform for young budding filmmakers.
The pandemic had all of us confined inside our homes, but creativity cannot be limited. James Bond of this team of co-founders, Siddharth Sinha, an avid cinema fan, had an understanding of the struggle filmmakers went through and wanted to create a platform where everyone could showcase their content and earn through it.
