1. AS A METABOLIC MEAL
Black beans contain flavonoids to control fat metabolism, magnesium to aid with protein synthesis and molybdenum to help cells create energy. Make a high-pro chilli by combining two cans of black beans (drained), one can of diced tomatoes, 1½ cups of low-salt chicken broth, 500 grams of extra-lean beef mince (browned), 1 tablespoon of chilli powder, 1½ teaspoons of ground cumin, ¾ teaspoons of oregano and three cloves of garlic (crushed) in a large pot. Cover and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 20 to 30 minutes.
